Fisherman Attacked by Shark off Portugal
On 16 August 2023, a 35-year-old Indonesian fisherman was bitten by a blue shark while aboard a fishing vessel off the coast of Vila do Conde, Portugal. The circumstances remain unclear, but reports suggest the shark may have been caught in the boat’s nets.
The man suffered a severe leg injury and was airlifted to a hospital in Porto, where he was placed in intensive care.
