Surfer Thrown Off Board by Shark in Brazil
On November 16, 2022, 28-year-old Italo Ferreira, the 2019 world surfing champion, was surfing alone off the coast of Noronha, Brazil, when a shark unexpectedly knocked him off his board. Ferreira described the encounter as sudden and frightening, saying, "The shark appeared and knocked me out of the water!"
Despite the close call, Ferreira was not injured. The shark, estimated to be around 2.5 meters long, quickly disappeared after the incident.
