Boy Injured in Shark Encounter While Snorkeling in Western Australia
On 29 April 2023, an 11-year-old boy was bitten by a shark while snorkeling near Kurrajong Campground in Cape Range National Park, Western Australia. The attack occurred around 3 p.m. in an area where whale carcasses had been reported days earlier.
The boy suffered cuts to his leg and was given first aid on the beach before being taken to Exmouth Hospital. He was later flown to Perth Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
