Pro Surfer Bitten by Shark in Western Australia

On 22 April 2023, professional surfer Max Marsden was attacked by a bronze whaler shark at Lucy’s Beach, south of Geraldton, Western Australia. The 1.5-metre shark bit his right arm at around 7:15 a.m.

Marsden’s companion helped him to shore, where paramedics provided first aid before he was taken to hospital. He was discharged three hours later with non-life-threatening injuries.
