Teen Surfer Attacked by Shark at Nun’s Beach, Australia
On October 6, 2022, 17-year-old Izaac Johnstone was surfing at Nun’s Beach in Portland, Victoria, when he was bitten on the foot just before 7:00 p.m. The water was cloudy, and Johnstone was waiting for a wave when he felt something latch onto his foot. Realizing it was a shark, he quickly paddled to shore, where he discovered deep gashes.
Paramedics arrived and transported Johnstone to Warrnambool Base Hospital, where he underwent surgery to repair tendons and nerves. Despite the attack, he remains determined to surf again once he recovers.
