Surfer Bitten by Great White Shark in Western Australia

On 24 July 2023, surfer Jack Frost was attacked by a great white shark at Gnarabup Beach in Margaret River, Western Australia. The attack, which occurred 600 metres from shore, sent his surfboard flying. Frost managed to paddle back to shore despite a deep leg wound.

An off-duty nurse provided first aid before he was taken to hospital for further treatment. Authorities had warned of increased shark activity due to a nearby whale carcass.
