Man Airlifted After Shark Bite in Summerland Key, Florida
On June 29, 2022, a man was airlifted to a Miami hospital after being bitten by a shark while in the water off Summerland Key, Florida. The incident occurred in the afternoon after he jumped off a boat and surfaced with a severe leg laceration.
The injured man received immediate first aid from those on the boat, who applied pressure and a tourniquet to control bleeding. He was quickly transported by air to a hospital, where doctors confirmed that the wound was consistent with a shark bite.
