Kite Surfer Bitten by Shark in Florida Keys
On 25 March 2023, 67-year-old Kevin Carlton Scott was kite surfing six miles off Key West, Florida, when a shark bit his right calf. His wife, who was waiting in their boat, heard him scream and helped him on board before rushing back to shore.
Paramedics applied a tourniquet, and he was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center in Kendall for further treatment.
